It is implied that Teyaal is one of the bigwigs overseeing the mining operations and ultimate projects on [[Zheng Shi]]. Recently, or not recently, she has spent over 200 years trying to build a highly advanced, prototype, one-of-a-kind space ship named ''"[[Sidewinder(ship)|The Sidewinder]]"'' with the assistance of her reprogrammed GI Android  [[Olympia]]. Granted she has long since become bored with the whole project and would like to be done with everything as soon as possible to move on with her life.

Teyaal will first be encountered in her office where just outside, [[Olympia]] will warn [[Captain Steele]] that she isn’t in a good mood right now and shouldn't be approached. When first entering the office, Teyaal will at first not recognize you before looking through her records and finding you listed as a documented intruder. The doctor will then ask you what you are after and more specifically why you are in ''her'' office, suspecting that you have come to steal her life's work. If the player says they are looking for the '''Probe''', it will shift [[Alignment]] to Nice. If the player says that they are just '''Sightseeing''' it will slightly increase Teyaal’s lust and shifts Alignment towards Mischievous. If the player tells her that they are here to steal '''Her Ship''' it will cause Teyaal to become enraged, slightly increasing her stats and shift the Alignment towards Hard. All these options will initiate combat. 

After defeating the [[Shock Hopper]] and recovering the Steele Tech Data Probe, it is possible to '''Hijack''' her life’s work: ''[[Sidewinder(ship)|The Sidewinder]]''. If the player attempts to enter [[Zheng Shi]] while piloting ''The Sidewinder'' Teyaal will attempt to take back her ship with her less powerful  [[Dr. Teyaal’s MS-XI|MS-XI]]. If you are defeated by Teyaal, she and her daughter will board the ship and have it surrounded by a fleet of Pirateships, leading to a [[Bad_Ends_by_Source#Sidewinder End|Bad End]]. If the player defeats her, she will retreat back to the docks and desperately try to repair her ship to try again next time. Teyaal will attempt to take back ''The Sidewinder'' a total of 3 times before her ship becomes too damaged to return to Zheng Shi. When this happens, the player will have the option to '''Leave''' her on board her ship where she will most likely die of a gas leak, lack of food, lack of oxygen, or the ship blowing up. If the player '''Dock'''s her ship, they will be able to rescue her. Teyaal will admit that she is impressed that you were able to push ''The Sidewinder'' past its limitations and defeat her multiple times even though she knew all its weaknesses. She then gives you her blessing to use her ship and tells you to visit her on the [[Zheng Shi#Recreation Deck|Recreation Deck]] if you get the chance.
