Once you have the Core, you can head back outside and talk to Syne. She can heal you of any Radiation Poisoning.
You can either give the Core or keep it for yourself. Keeping the Core gives 100000 Credits, but angers Syne. It is unknown what consequences this will have later. Once you talk to Syne, you cannot return. Make sure you have everything.
