Steele’s first interaction with Queensguard is as Taivra’s champion during the palace dungeon. Queensguard is guarding Steele’s [[$link-7|Rival]] and [[$link-8|Dane]]--who Taivra captured earlier--and if Steele decides to fight the way through, she will be the first roadblock. Either way, when Dane and [[$link-9| Jack/Jill]] escape, Queensguard will attempt to block them. Dane overpowers her and runs her through with a broken spear, badly injuring the bodyguard before either challenging the queen or escaping with her charge. After the dungeon’s events resolve, Taivra is last seen cradling a wounded Queensguard in her arms, shouting for a healer. (At least, unless Steele approaches and executes Taivra on the spot.)
