When inseminated by a Venus pitcher while already pregnant with an unfertilized [[$link-15|Venus pod]], the pod will be fertilized and the seed will germinate before birth. After birth, [[$link-16|Captain Steele]] will have the option of planting the young plant or shipping her off to the [[$link-17|baby nursery]]. If the birth took place in private, the young will automatically be placed in the nursery. The insemination will have a residue of about two weeks after the last birth, so any Venus pitcher pregnancies afterward will automatically be fertilized until the effect wears off.
