The Excavation Robot was tasked with harvesting mineral veins that can be found in [[Special:MyLanguage/Zheng Shi|Zheng Shi]]'s crust as well as drilling massive openings and spaces within the asteroid for major construction projects. Because Zheng Shi is a large, misshapen asteroid it equipped with numerous, arthropod like appendages to crawl and cling along the station's uneven surface, and numerous powerful drills for Excavation purposes.

If the player is has yet to repair the main elevator, they can discover an airlock in the mines that can be opened from the inside. If the player previously obtained the [[Special:MyLanguage/Incomplete Spacesuit|Incomplete Spacesuit]] and the [[Special:MyLanguage/Spacesuit Helmet|Spacesuit Helmet]], and combined them into the [[Special:MyLanguage/Pirate Spacesuit|Pirate Spacesuit]], they can use it to walk along the circumference of the station to the ship hangar, thus avoiding most hostile encounters. However, upon reaching the airlock door for the hanger, the player will discover that the coupling for the door is broken. Upon, attempting to fix it, the player will be attacked by this fearsome Robot, and it's implied that it was responsible for the coupling breaking in the first place.

This is perhaps the hardest way to repair the elevator and yet the most rewarding, since destroying it allows free fast travel from [[Special:MyLanguage/Zheng Shi|Zheng Shi]]'s docks to the other end of the mine, bypassing most of the hostiles . The Excavation Robot protects itself with a modified version of [[Special:MyLanguage/Urbolg|Urbolg]]'s [[Special:MyLanguage/Prototype Pirate Shield|Prototype Pirate Shield]] and armed with a large [[Special:MyLanguage/Laser Carbine|Laser Carbine]]. Because of the circumstances this enemy is fought in, the player can only fight this enemy while wearing the [[Special:MyLanguage/Pirate Spacesuit|Pirate Spacesuit]] and the magnetic boots greatly reduces, the player's evasion and the accuracy of melee attacks. Aside from that, this enemy is capable of numerous, high accuracy and damage attacks that cause debilitating status effects. It has the highest number of hit points in the game right now, surpassing the likes of even [[Special:MyLanguage/Doctor Lash|Doctor Lash]], and is immune to stun, disarm, and Lust attacks. The only thing stopping it from being the #1 most powerful enemy in the game right now is its crippling weakness to electrical attacks.
