In a technically-genderless species like bothrioc, there is little to no effect on secondary sexual characteristics, but instead these hormones serve as a trigger to reduce egg production and increase slime production within their ovipositing abdomens. As such, a repeated submissive is pushed further and further into the fertilizing role and becomes less and less effective when ovipositing. The hormones used in egg production, however, are self-reinforcing.
