A unique feature of the Daynar is that their blood is luminescent: their oxygenized blood glows a healthy red through their skin, and is most easily visible through their tassels. Blood that is not oxygenized glows through their skin as a pale blue. Before they evolved, the blood made it difficult to hide from predators, especially in the night, the strength of the glow was used as an indicator of the individual’s health and fertility/virility, and a specific pulse pattern signified if a female was in heat. The Daynar were hunted for a short stint in their existence for their blood, which was used in mood lights and as a status symbol, until they gained sapience.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
