Though it is not socially enforced, traditionally, laquine culture falls under a gender-based trichotomy. Females are responsible for roles that revolve around caring for the children and adults, such as being homemakers, chefs or nurses. Males are responsible for tasks that require strength or endurance as a general rule; construction work, farming, manual labor, etcetera. Hermaphrodites, finally, tend to gravitate towards the social power and intelligence-based roles, such as scientists and politicians.
