As a towering warrior, he was doomed to live out his days as a slave in galactic fighting pits until the crew of the ''Silence'' accidentally freed him during a routine intercept mission. Following his liberation, he swore a lifelong debt to his rescuer, [[$link-4| Kara Volke]], and has since served as the crew’s muscle. Tarik’s relatively simple, with little understanding of modern technology -- he frequently attributes holographs to spiritual apparitions, and equates other ships to great beasts.
