Valden is a central character and potential hostile in Syriquest :The Genetic Opera.

Appearance

There you see what can only be Valden himself: a tall, lean ausar man with a short-cropped beard and sand-colored hair, wearing the same blue military overcoat Syri adores so much. He's floating as if suspended by the holo-projectors, drifting up and down with the rise and fall of his chest.
As you approach, his eyes flick open, locking on you. They're solid, dark red orbs, glowing with open rage at everything around him.

History/Personality/Information of Note

At some point in the past, Valden and Syri were a part of an experiment for person-sized Warp tunnel. During the experiment, Valden's physical body was killed but his brain waves were echoed into the scientists' holo-banks, trapping his soul in a senseless, body-less, oblivion.

The Holo-bank and corpse were given to Dr. Calnor and Akkadi to experiment and study it to determine what killed him and echoed his mind to increase safety in future warp technology. For years, Valden has been imprisoned and endlessly tortured with the growing desire to have a body and escape from this hell at any cost.

Interactions

At the beginning of the quest Valden will barricade himself in the Warp Field and won't let anyone inside.

When meeting Calnor, the doctor will introduce himself before being interrupted by Valden who will ask you to kill Calnor over the P.A. The PC will have the choice to "Team Up" with Calnor or try to kill him for Valden. Siding with Calnor leads to Valden sending security bots to subdue the two of you. Beating the bots will lead to a second confrontation in the Warp Field At which point the player can Try Peace or Kill Valden. Losing to the security bots or Valden will lead to a Bad End. If the PC sides with Valden, they will fight Calnor and be allowed to enter the Warp Field peacefully and negotiate his escape plan. Note: the option to kill Valden will not be available. If Valden is allowed to escape it will lead to a final-final battle against a gunship being piloted by Commander Schora.

Combat

Since Valden is just a ghost in a jar, he will occupy one of several Security Robots. Whenever the shield of his robots breaks or whenever the robot is in critical condition, there is a chance that Valden will transfer his consciousness to a healthy bot. Additionally, all the Security Robots in the facility are homing in on your position giving him a seemingly endless number of chances to kill you. The only way to Kill Valden is to force him into the body of an already damaged robot and then destroy that robot.

Talk

Valden can be talked with to negotiate the means by which method he may escape the facility. Options include stealing Dr. Calnor's body via his cranial implants, or if you have them in your inventory, Siegwulfe and Tam-Wolf. However, Valden is too proud to accept Tam-Wolf as his new body (regardless of Tam-Wolf's state of upgrade), forcing you to take another option.

Sex

At the end of Syri Quest if Valden took over Calnor's body Steele can start a threesome with Valden and Syri
