Sizzlepod Staff

Sizzlepod Staves are a native product of Mhen'ga, used by certain tribes of Zil and and Vanae like to defend themselves from sharp-clawed naleen. As the name suggests, the sizzlepod tree gained its alias from the bulbous, acidic nodules that sprout around its branch edges in response to impacts. This defense mechanism effectively dissuades many creatures from consuming the plant yet makes it an invaluable tool to the natives. By treating to the center line of broad branch to prevent nodule growth, a weapon of significant acidic strength can be created, deadly on both ends but safe for the wielder to hold on to.

Early reports indicate that properly treated sizzlepod branches retain their ability to spawn more pods for months - or even longer with exposure to sufficient humidity and nurturing skin oils secreted by terrans and the species most like them.
