Holodoms were one of Humphard's first adult products and largely considered their "first big break" in the industry. The unassuming metal ring is a one-use hardlight shield designed to be worn around the penis. Activated by a small touch sensor, it is comfortable to wear and small enough that its presence is barely felt by both parties.

Before the holodom, galactic citizens had to rely on other less enjoyable methods of safe sex. Traditional condoms reduced sensation, body modification and implants were troublesome, and oral supplements were not always cross-species compatible. The holodom offered a quick, easy way to have sex with practically any species without worrying about impregnation or disease.

On the release of seed, a holodom captures it within the field and keeps it stored in a hard light bubble. For incredibly virile users, this often creates a spectacular 'bubble' of semen that can stress the holodom and potentially cause it to burst.

Some seedy dealers sell fake holodoms that, while holographic, are not 'hard light'. There are a number of customers who buy these products to dupe their sexual partners, often in a bid to get them pregnant.
