局部重力排斥在较为文明的星系中是一种相当廉价且高效的科技。它需要一个表面来反弹重力作用力，因此目前大多数交通工具只能将这种力场维持在地面以上几米的范围内。一些星球上已经建造了带有独立反重力气泡的悬挂式轨道系统。
