Unlike their cousins, the [[$link-3|Bothrioc Pidemme]] who, similar to the [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_spider wolf] and [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomisidae crab] spiders in that they hunt, fight, and force themselves on their prey, Quadommes use traditional and [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_trapdoor_spiders trap door] spider strategies by creating a grid or web of their extremely sticky and durable silk and connecting it to their home in the cave roof. When a poor creature gets stuck in the web the bothrioc will descend upon them, tie them up with their silk, and breed them. This method means that they don't collect breeding partners as quickly as the Pidemmes, but capturing them is easier and more reliable. It also helps they produce more oil. |
