As Nehzara is infertile, though, she found herself assigned to combat units when she followed her mother into the military. She quickly proved herself an able commander when the Red-Gold war broke out, earning a reputation as a bit of a hero as she took several cities and led major assaults against the gold myr line. She was poised to achieve the rank of general just before the cease fire was declared, which ended any hopes of that. Nehzara fell victim to back-room politics, and was assigned away from the front lines at Kressia and to the diplomatic group working in the Demilitarized Zone. Her unit was re-assigned to her rival, [[$link-4| Colonel Kalayna]], the de-facto ruler of Kressia. |
