Males were expected to be self-sacrificing to the extreme, females expected to stay firmly within the bounds of home or city and breed. Anatae communities tend to be extremely safe and well run but rather drab to most aliens’ tastes, anatae having come around to the concept of art and the indulgement of creativity quite slowly.
