Notably, gryvain are perfectly capable of inseminating a partner when they themselves are not in heat. Gryvain sex drive is fairly average outside of their heat cycle, and while they are not known to have particularly sharp senses of smell, it is noticeably higher in the presences of a member of any species in heat — not just their own. Being in the presence of a leithan female in oestrus can be nigh-debilitating to gryvain, at least as much as to the famously-vulnerable ausar.
