Nevrie reveals that she was not born on her species' homeworld, implying that like many dzaan her mother was likely kidnapped by offworlders. She has little affection for her species or planet, and seems to prefer the company of other species -- so much so that she voluntarily takes pills to suppress her semen’s addictive properties. Nevrie is a relatively recent hire by Xenogen, and is a lazy and laid-back clerk who’s more concerned with having a constant supply of snacks and video games than actually ensuring her shop’s success. She constantly complains about her boss, Byron McAllister, who is an absentee most of the time.
