Bigger creatures are regarded as potential mates. Once a creature in this category has been induced into its burrow a cockvine will attempt to immobilize it with its tentacles. Cockvine tentacles sweat an oily substance and seep a pungent herbal semen from their tips in the presence of potential mates; this has a muscle-relaxing, aphrodisiac effect which in the close confines of a cockvine burrow is described as overpowering. Once a victim has been incapacitated the cockvine mates with it vigorously in every way it possibly can. Although they are only capable of inseminating functioning wombs, cockvines cannot discriminate between different entrances on a mate and simply seek to seed every hole as thoroughly as they can. Once it has finished, the cockvine carefully discharges the victim from its burrow and then retracts itself.
