Daynar lay eggs as opposed to live birth. The eggs are very small (compared to an adult female Daynar), at roughly 11 cm (four inches) across – this is so the mother gains as little mass as possible during gestation. They are spherical. A typical clutch is only between three and five eggs, and even then, a natural birth meant none of them were guaranteed to hatch. As the Daynar improved their quality of life and medicine, the chances of any fertilized egg hatching successfully increased exponentially. In a modern life, it’s very unlikely that a fertilized egg would not hatch – and to combat the sudden, massive boom in population that would occur, JoyCo supplies nearly-free birth control pills for the female Daynar to regulate how many eggs she would lay: anywhere from one to seven, if she wanted.
