If Shade has been sexed by Steele before, she will not be a hostile; otherwise, she must be defeated in combat to proceed. If she was fought and defeated, a hardened Kara may kill her or she will be left unconscious for about two days before being active again. If Shade is not a hostile, she will give Steele a fair warning for playing her and will wish Steele luck for the upcoming fight, regenerating 15% of health and energy.
