"First Contact" is a term used for U.G.C.'s official touchdown on a previously undiscovered planet. Each major planet rush takes place every one to two centuries, at most, and a majority of First Contact planetary societies usually integrate with the U.G.C. in that time span. The planet rush events include the use of interstellar spacecraft and warp tunnels as the primary means of travel.
