- Sionach get their name from the word Psionic.
- It was originally planned for the Kui-tan homeworld to actually have been a moon orbiting the Sionach's home planet. This is a reference to how the Kitsune and the Tanuki both being shape - shifters in Japanese folklore.
- The real world word equivalent, "sionnach", is the Irish Gaelic word for fox. It is roughly pronounced: shun-ukh, "shun-" sounding like 'shu-' from 'shut' but the 'u' is vocalized further forward in the mouth, "-ukh", roughly like the '-och' from 'loch' with the 'o' also vocalized further forward. Note, some variation exists between dialects.
