After accepting the collar (either from combat or normal submission routes) or having it forced on, Vark will ask you to stay with him forever as his Toy/Mate. Accepting the request will result in a bad end. Denying him but continuing to have sex with him with the collar on will eventually result in him claiming you as his mate. Choosing to resist until he takes matters into his own hands garners some respect from him, putting Steele on a more equal footing in the partnership, while accepting before that results in Steele being treated more like a pet or slave. In order to continue having sex with Vark, but not receive his Bad End, Steele can enter his cave and talk to Vark without having sex with him to reset the perma-stay increment meter.
